The materials that can be used are different, the ones most used today are? Composite? that is, very resistant and highly aesthetic micro-fill materials, thus offering particular advantages in particular in the anterior sectors.
These highly adhesive materials can be further strengthened when there are very large cavities to be filled, with glass or quartz fiber posts that are cemented into the root canal of the teeth, reinforcing them enormously.
Normally, in order to cure a vital tooth, one proceeds with a local anesthesia, and subsequently removing the diseased part of the tooth through special burs and then, after using powerful adhesives, progressively inserting small layers of material (stratification) proceeds to restore the original shape of the tooth and therefore to rehabilitate its chewing function.
The initial hardening of this type of material is obtained through particular light frequencies (photopolymerizing lamps). Once it has been checked that the reconstructed tooth closes in harmony with the other dental elements, the material will be polished to prevent the adhesion of the dental plaque and therefore the possibility of a recurrence of the carious pathology.
