Prosthesis
Metal Free

Il trattamento protesico fisso prevede l?uso di diversi materiali per sostituire la struttura del dente mancante.

All-metal or ceramic-coated metal structures are normally used, relying on different types of alloys. In recent years, particularly with the advent of digital technology, several metal-free systems have become available on the market.

In general, metal-free restorations should allow professionals to better reproduce the natural color of the teeth, avoiding the shortcomings of metal-ceramic restorations.

These materials have the characteristic of being processed by milling machines guided by 3D printing software and therefore have a very high level of precision and reliability.

The materials used in this sector are constantly evolving as well as the machinery that allows them to be processed: this represents the real challenge for natural aesthetics and optimal function.

Parallelamente allo sviluppo di questi materiali estetici si sono sviluppate innovative tecniche di adesione che consentono di poter ?incollare? permanentamente i manufatti protesici .

What are the advantages of the
PROTESI METAL FREE?

Based on what was published by COCHRANE LIBRARY in 2017 as reference points in this area, we have that:

  • The metal-free prosthesis is aesthetically very valid allowing to have crowns practically equal to those of natural teeth in color and in the reflection of light.
  • Adhesion to dental tissues is very high. This point is in some respects an advantage (for the tightness of the prosthesis), but for others a disadvantage, in fact it is not possible to disassemble the crown or the bridge once they have been cemented.
  • This implies that the main collateral event, which must be very clear for the patient, is represented by the fact that if there is any problem on the underlying tooth this type of prosthetic product, it is not possible to disassemble the prosthesis except by cutting it and then destroying it.
  • The absence of metal avoids that unpleasant black border on the border with the gum that appears in a large number of fixed prosthetic rehabilitations in metal-ceramic.

The types of metal free prostheses

The most used materials for metal free prostheses are:

  • Zirconia
  • Disilicates
  • Integral ceramics
  • Composite materials

Used for making veneers, inlays, single crowns, bridges or entire dental arches.

the advantages of metal-free prostheses are many:

  1. Hypoallergenic
  2. Reliability in terms of structural strength and bone integration
  3. Aesthetics and naturalness of the result
  4. Biocompatibility
  5. Absolute precision
  6. Long-term maintenance

Once the restoration has been fixed and cemented, whether it be a prosthetic crown, veneer, inlay or bridge, it will be fully integrated. Just like having natural teeth.

The restorations that can be made with metal-free:

  • Crowns
  • Veneers
  • Anterior and posterior bridges
  • Individual abutments
  • Screwed prostheses.
