Our goal is to create a friendly, welcoming and professional context at the same time.
We try to use all the latest digital technologies combined with the technical-scientific knowledge of the constantly updated staff.
The digital revolution opens the way to the virtual patient, and therefore to the possibility of representing all the patient's tissues (bone, teeth, gums, face) in a single 3D model, on which it is possible to perform a series of planning and modeling of nature. surgical, prosthetic and orthodontic; starting from this, it is possible to physically create the devices necessary for clinical use, in the various branches of dentistry: the Pellegrino STP srl Dental Practice is now fully inserted in this revolution by developing its own operational flow charts.
We find the use of digital technology applied by diagnosis (low emission 3D radiological equipment / use of facial and dental scanners) alla terapia (chirurgia sonica e apparecchi ortodontici digitalizzati e customizzati) in modo da sviluppare piani di trattamento personalizzati partendo da una specifica diagnosi.
At the same time, the processes concerning the sterilization of instruments and the sanitization of clinical areas and the choice of new materials are constantly analyzed and implemented within the Pellegrino Studio to improve the performance performed at 360 Ā°.
The Pellegrino STP srl Dental Clinic is equipped with trade union authorization (Health Authorization No. 2016 del 27/01/2022 ?
In our office it is possible to perform the following diagnostic investigations:
ENDORAL RADIOGRAPHIES: they are radiographs of the single tooth that show teeth, roots and periodontal support in different projections and are taken in variable numbers according to the specific case. When taken of the whole mouth, the intraoral radiographs are mounted on a special support and constitute a complete projection called FMX (Full Mouth X-Rays).
The intraoral radiographs are also made on a digital support for a real-time acquisition of the image.
CBCT (Cone Beam Computer Tomography): commonly known as TAC, it is a cone beam radiographic examination that allows to analyze the anatomical structures and any lesions with a three-dimensional view; the equipment in the office exploits state-of-the-art technology in the dental world that allows you to obtain three-dimensional x-ray examinations with less radiation than traditional CT. The use of CBCT is essential to assess the state of health and the adequacy of the bone support in view of an implant insertion, but it is also useful for analyzing the exact position of wisdom teeth before proceeding with their surgical extraction.
ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPHY: known as? Panoramic ?, it shows an overall view of the maxillary bones and is useful, together with teleradiography, to develop adequate Treatment Plans for patients undergoing orthodontic treatments.
All the latest generation radiological equipment of the Studio is subject to periodic maintenance and quality controls by qualified experts who verify the compliance of the radiological systems and test the radiation values to which patients are exposed.
Optical imprints
The intraoral scanner is a 3D scanner, which is a three-dimensional measurement system used to capture real-world objects, so that they can be analyzed in the digital world. Specifically, the intraoral scanner is a device that collects information on the shape and size of dental arches (or on the position of dental implants) through the sole emission of a light beam. In fact, it projects a light beam and captures, through high resolution cameras, the distortion that this beam undergoes when it hits these structures. The information collected by these cameras is processed by powerful software, which accurately reconstructs the 3D model of the desired structures.
The Pellegrino STP srl Dental Practice is equipped with two different types of scanners for taking impressions.
Both state-of-the-art equipment allows you to record the morphology of the teeth and dento-alveolar processes in order to avoid taking the classic impression that often arouses fear in patients as it generates the stimulation of the gag reflex.
This very useful approach in various sectors of dentistry is already widely used within Studio Pellegrino in the field of orthodontics and in an increasingly pushed and complete application phase in the field of prostheses where we are still evolving our know-how.
The use of scanners allows us to have much more data to evaluate in the diagnostic phase, to be able to digitally design the therapies and devices to be used and, not least, to reduce the number of impressions to be taken during the therapy. .
Dental Clinic Pellegrino STP srl is equipped with a latest generation facial scanner of the Planmeca ProFaceĀ® type which is a very useful tool for producing a realistic 3D reconstruction of the patient's face. This System, which is integrated with the use of CBCT, can also be used alone and is very useful both in the diagnostic and in the therapeutic phase because it allows to carry out volumetric comparisons without carrying out further radiographic analyzes.
The images generated by this scanner also allow for clearer and more efficient communication with the patient.
Sterilization means any process, physical or chemical, which leads to the destruction of all forms of living microorganisms and other biological agents.
Next to dental units there is a room equipped with advanced instrumentation exclusively dedicated to the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of instruments, where qualified personnel carry out the sterilization procedures according to operating protocols that guarantee maximum hygiene for patient safety.
The most dangerous pathogenic microorganisms in a dental office are undoubtedly HIV viruses, (AIDS) and the viruses HBV, HCV, HAV (hepatitis). However, the infectious power of gram + bacteria (such as Streptococcus and Staphylococcus), gram? Bacteria should not be underestimated. (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), mycobacteria (M. tuberculosis) and fungi (Candida albicans).
Contagion can occur both directly (through bleeding mucous membranes, purulent material, saliva, etc.) and indirectly (through dental instruments).
Nell?ottica di raggiungere questo obiettivo da un lato si utilizzano i mezzi chimico-fisici per la neutralizzazione degli agenti patogeni e dall?altro si predispongono protective barriers (personal protective equipment) such as dikes, disposable gloves, disposable masks, goggles, screens, disposable polyethylene films to cover handpieces and handles, hair caps.
The steam sterilization procedure (autoclave) implemented in the study is the most consolidated in the literature:
1. collection / transportation of instruments
2. decontamination
3. lavaggio manuale: detersione ? spazzolatura ? risciacquo ? asciugatura
4. washing in the ultra-sound tank
5. disinfezione: disinfezione chimica ? fisica
6. controllo e manutenzione dei Dispositivi Medici
7. packaging (SBS)
8. autoclave loading
9. steam sterilization
10. tests to be performed in the steam sterilization process
11. unloading of sterile material
12. conservazione dei Dispositivi Medici sterili
13. tracciabilitá del procedimento
14. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
15. environmental hygiene and behavioral rules
? Norma Italiana ?Guida alla progettazione, allo sviluppo e al controllo del processo di ricondizionamento dei dispositivi medici riutilizzabili (DM) sterilizzabili mediante vapore UNI/TR 11408 ? marzo 2011(Ente Nazionale Italiano di Unificazione);
? Linee guida sull?attività di sterilizzazione quale protezione collettiva da agenti biologici per l?operatore nelle strutture sanitarie ? maggio 2010 (D. Lgs. 81/2008 e s.m.i.);
? Decreto Legislativo 9 aprile 2008, n. 81 ?In materia di tutela della salute e della sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro? in particolare ?Igiene e sicurezza sul lavoro? Titolo X (art. 271- 281);
? Legislative Decree 24.02.1997 n. 46? Implementation of Directive 93/42 / EEC, concerning medical devices ?;
? Presidential Decree 14.01.1997 n. 37 - Approval to the Regions and Autonomous Provinces of the policy act on the subject of minimum structural, technological and organizational requirements for the exercise of health activities by public and private structures?
? D.M. September 28, 1990? Norms for protection against professional HIV infection in public and private health and care facilities ?.
Medical Devices (DM) that come into direct contact with the skin or mucous membranes which can cause bleeding or micro-lesions, must be subjected, after each use, to a sterilization process.
First of all, the individual protection measures were maintained within the study and there where possible physical barriers in a preventive key.
See what is it? Human coronaviruses have been shown to persist on surfaces such as metal, glass or plastic for a period of 48 hours (Otter Ja et al., 2016; Kampf G et al., 2020), and SARS-Cov2 can persist on surfaces up to at 72h (Van Doremalen N et al., 2020) although clear scientific evidence is not yet available in the literature, we have implemented the provisions of the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
SARS coronaviruses are effectively inactivated by adequate sanitation procedures that include the use of common hospital disinfectants, such as sodium hypochlorite (0.1% -0.5%), ethanol (62-71%) or hydrogen peroxide ( 0.5%), for an adequate contact time (the estimated time is 1 minute). (Kampf G et al., 2020; Ministry of Health Febr 2020).
Within the practice, therefore, beyond the normal disinfection and sterilization protocols that were already implemented by dental practices before Covid 19, we have kept active the habit of sanitizing the operating environments through the use of a device that performs a dry fog nebulization integrated by the use of chemical surface disinfectants in order to use a precise protocol to prevent the risk of contagion.
These procedures are combined with frequent air exchange, particularly in areas where nebulization occurs.
